James Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly known as Kabila, a member of the Convention People's Party (CPP) has urged the National Identification Authority (NIA) to blacklist officials who engage in fraudulent acts during the Ghana Card registration exercise.
With that they will not be employed by any organization again to continue with such acts, according to him.
Reports are rife that some staff of the NIA are registering some foreigners mostly Nigerians in the ongoing Ghana Card registration exercise.
They collect money from these Nigerians and register them in the middle of the night according to information gathered by the police.
Another unconfirmed report indicated that the NIA staff were registering some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Kabila speaking to this during a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’ Monday, indicated: “It is a fact that they (NIA staff) all party affiliations but the temporary officers must not let their party allegiance influence their work. The law must deal ruthlessly with the fraudulent ones. We should find a way of blacklisting them from any national exercise.”
