Blay: Only NPP has Zongos at heart

Freddie Blay - NPP first Vice-Chairman Freddie Blay - NPP first Vice-Chairman

The acting national chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has charged supporters of the party who live in Muslim communities (Zongos) to work harder and help the party amass enough votes to win the November 7 polls.

Mr Blay, who was addressing a gathering of party members at a national Nasara Conference at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region said he was not pleased with the low votes from Muslim communities in the last general elections and charged them to reverse the trend because NPP has the best development policies that will transform Muslim communities, especially the Zongos.

“Unfortunately, the Zongo communities and similar areas have not being doing too well in elections, although the NPP is the only party with very sound policies that are meant to bring development to the country, especially to the Zongos and the Northern Region of the country,” he emphasised at the conference on Saturday 30 January, 2016.

Mr Blay holds the view that the Nasara Wing, which is a group specially created to reach out to the Muslim communities, especially those in the Zongos, will play a key role in snatching victory from the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the 2016 polls.

“I’ll ask you, those of us, who belong to the party and are in these communities, we must work harder, so that we can do well,” he stated.
