Blood On Minister’s Head

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Armah Ashitey, is in trouble for turning his office into a boxing ring where his guests become punching bags. The outgoing President of the Tertiary Educational Institute Network (TEIN) of the NDC, Mr. Afari Jones Jnr. told Day-Break that he fell victim to this interesting behavior when Nii Armah-Ashitey ordered his body guards to finish him up.

“I got frightened when he told his bodyguards to deal with me because they were macho men. They just pounced on me and started beating me. One gave me three heavy slaps which sent me bleeding”, Afari noted.

He continued that until Nii Armah Ashitey resigns from his current position, ‘every single blood that I lost in that office would be on his head,” a traumatized looking Afari Jones Jnr. narrated his ordeal.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) student leader explained that the Accra Polytechnic branch of TEIN had invited the Regional Minister to swear in the newly elected NDC leaders on the school campus.

“When I got there Nii Armah Ashitey said he could not come because he would be travelling so I explained to him politely that if he had told us earlier we would have gotten someone else but it is not fair that he is turning us down at the last hour especially when we are the face of the NDC on campus and we had sent him an invitation several weeks back and he had agreed to come.

“But he got angry and said it is not every Accra Poly student that voted for him so we should stop worrying him; I felt he was wrong and when I told him so he ordered his guards to finish me and that was what happened. As I talk now, my eardrums hurt, my whole body aches and I feel sick,” Afari Jones Jnr. noted.

Day-Break tried contacting the minister for his version of the story but his lines were off. The paper was also unable to get in touch with the Regional Coordinating Director; his phone had also been turned off.
