Boadua to enjoy portable water

Boadua (E/R), Sept 4, GNA - Work on the construction of the 5.7 billion-cedi small town water project at Boadua in the Kwaebibirem District has been completed.

Barima Owusu Konadu, Chief of the town with Mr. Yaw Yiadom Boakye, District Chief Executive and some citizens of the town were conducted round to inspect the over-head tank and the testing of 24 stand-pipes in the town The project funded by the German government had 5 percent of the finance from the District Assembly with the community contributing 5 percent.

Mr. Yaw Yiadom Boakye speaking to GNA after the inspection commended Kaddacon limited the contracting firm for completing the project ahead of schedule.

He called on the community to attach importance to maintaining the system to ensure it long life span. Mr. Della Kubuafor, Deputy Project Manager of Hydroplan-Fosat, the Consultancy Company for the project said the system was designed in a way that the rate of water flow could meet demand at the peak period to avoid long queues and delays.

He called on the Community Water and Sanitation Agency and the Community Water Board to be conversant with the manual of the system to be able to respond quickly to minor faults. Mr. Charles Dakudzi Cassius, Assembly Member of the town said the project would help relieve the people from depending on river Mmo, which was infested as their source of water. 04 Sept 05
