Board Appointed of Ghana Institute of Journalism

The government has appointed members of Boards of Directors of the Ghana Institute of Journalism and the National Film and Television Institute in accordance with provisions of the GIJ Decree 1974 (NRCF.275) and NAFTI Decrees 1978 SMCD. 151.

The GIJ Board of eight members is made up of the following: Mr. K.B. Asante, a retired diplomat and Minister of State - Chairman, Dr. Kojo Bonnah Koomson, Acting Director, School of Communication Studies, University of Ghana, Legon, Mr. Kojo Mettle-Nunoo, Director-General, Projects Management Unit, Ministry of Education, Mr. R.B. W. Hesse, Management Consultant. The other are Mr. Kofi Sekyiamah, Director of Information Services Department, Mrs. Gifty Afenyi-Dadzie, Representative of the Ghana Journalists Association, Mr. J.E. Allotey-Pappoe, Representative of the Institute of Public Relations and Mr. David Newton, Acting Director, Ghana Institute of Journalism.

The 10-member NAFTI Board is chaired by Professor Kofi Awoonor, ex-diplomat, author and scholar. The members include Mr. Alex Quarmyne, Communications Consultant, Prof. Mark Duodu, Director, Ghana Television, Miss Korkor Amarteifio, Deputy Director, National Theatre and Mr. Victor Anti, Director, Ghana Film Industry Corporation. The others are Prof. Kofi Anyidoho, Director, School of Performing Arts, Mr Egbert Adjeso, Film Consultant, Mr Martin Loh, Acting Director, NAFTI as well as a representative each of the Ministry of Education and Freidrich Ebert Foundation. A statement by the Ministry of Information says the two boards will be jointly inaugurated on Wednesday November 22nd/tomorrow at the Ghana Institute of Journalism at 11 a.m.
