The Unity Co-operative Food Farmers and Marketing Society at Bodom near Nkoranza in the Brong Ahafo Region has built an office and a Guest house estimated to cost several millions of cedis. The chairman of the Society, Mr.. Richard Kwame-Baffoe, who conducted newsmen round the projects said the members have cultivated 25 acres of teak trees two acres of oil palm and five acres of cashew. He said proceeds from the farms will be used to finance more projects, Mr.. Kwame-Baffoe announced that the Society obtained 4,000 bags of maize from deductions made from maize harvested by its member. The Secretary of the Society, Mr.. Samuel Appiah-Kubi, said Technoserve, an NGO based in the US, is helping the members to stockpile maize against the lean season. The Assemblymember for Bodom, Mr.. J.K. Arthur, asked the Society to initiate projects that will benefit the people.
