Dear Sir/Madam,
STOP WORK BY BOLE TRADITIONAL COUNCIL
The Attention of the Bole Traditional Council (the custodians of the land) under the leadership of Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso (I) has been drawn to a serious impasse between residents of Mempeasem number one (1) and the Bob Fingers Methodist church-Ghana over the construction of a fence wall by the church.
Having taken due consideration of the issue in question, the Paramount Chief and President of Bole Traditional Council Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso (I) in consultation with the council of elders direct with immediate effect that;
1. The said construction should be stopped totally in the interest of peace and tranquillity until further notice.
2. The Bole Township having emerged from dusk to dawn curfew would not be happy with another curfew which the current impasse is likely to generate.
3. Bole Township is currently peaceful and nothing should be done to disturb the status quo.
4. Any attempt by religious organizations or group of person to drag the good name of the Bole into the mud is not only xenophobic but unfortunate.
5. The position of the council is that the Methodist Church-Ghana is over sixty years since its establishment in Bole and have lived cordially and peaceful with people hence we expect same must be cheeriest at all times as the church is out to win souls for Christ.
6. The Bole Traditional Authorities do not discriminate against any settler, religious organisation or institutions who are land-hungry and have come to the Bole Traditional Area hunting for land. The land being the property of the Bole Traditional Council, we reserve the right to impose reasonable bye-laws that will promote peace and development.
By a copy of this letter, the church is hereby advised to stop completely the construction of the said fence wall until a proper demarcation of the area plan is done by the technical expertise of Bole District Assembly in order to protect lives and properties and also to bring lasting peace between the residents of the area and the church.
Best Regards.
...Signed...
Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso (I)
