'Bootlickers' are causing NPP’s downfall - Kwesi Pratt

Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr has said, New Patriotic Party (NPP) activists trying to curry favour with the party’s flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, are the cause of the party’s woes.

“Persons calming I will let Nana Addo know that Paul Afoko is not a trusted person but I am…trying to die for Nana Addo and kill for Nana Addo and so on is what is causing the party's downfall,” he said.

His remarks follow on the heels of news reports that the NPP’s Upper East Regional Chairman, Adam Mahama, who was bathed with acid by two assailants, could not survive the attack and died Thursday morning.

National chairman of the party’s Mr. Paul Afoko’s younger brother, Gregory Afoko and another yet-to-be-disclosed party activist, have been named as perpetrators of the dastardly attack.

Speaking on Adom FM on the unfortunate incident, the seasoned journalist described the NPP’s conduct even before the official campaign for the 2016 elections kicks off as unacceptable and maddening.

“2016 elections is not due and all these are happening in the NPP just because someone want to be appointed a minister and district chief executive. Who will vote for them [NPP] to win power come 2016…what is wrong with them? They are so annoying,” he fumed.
