Kuntanase (Ash), June 6, GNA - The Bosomtwe Rural Bank (BRB) Limited at Kuntanase in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma district is to spend 200 million cedis this year to support infrastructure developments for the communities in its catchment's area, a top official has said. Projects to be undertaken are the provision of water, electricity, education and sanitation to help improve the living conditions of the people.
Mr J.E.K Mainu, Human Resource and Administrative Manager of the bank, told the Ghana News Agency at Kuntanase on Monday that, the projects formed part of the Bank's social responsibilities to improve the lives of the people.
He said the Bank had since 2003 spent 138 million cedis in scholarships to 40 students in second cycle and tertiary institutions to promote education in the district.
Mr Mainu said each student received a full scholarship for three years.
He said the Bank had decided to extend the package to Junior Secondary School pupils to enable them to purchase books, shoes and other basic materials needed for their education.
