A 22-year-old electrician, resident of Lartebiokorshie in Accra last Thursday evening committed suicide by hanging in his room.
He stated that he was fed up with life in a note addressed to his father.
The deceased, Ralpheal Tagoe, who wrote the said note with blue ink, stated “I am shattered, frustrated and depressed. I do not know what to do with my life again and have decided to end it all. There is genuine reason for my action but I rather leave it unsaid…(sic)”
The said note was later discovered after police personnel from the Mamprobi Police Station got to the scene around 7:00pm.
The father of the deceased, Isaac Tagoe was said to have identified the handwriting as that of his son.
According to reports, the father, an auto electrician lived with the deceased in their self-contained apartment.
Mr. Tagoe always left the house at 7:30am daily and returned after 4:00pm.
On that fateful day when he returned from work and entered his son’s room, he saw him hanging on the ceiling.
He immediately rushed to the Mamprobi Police Station to report the matter to the police.
When Inspector Peter Kofi Apoani, the Mamprobi District Police Station Officer was contacted, he said the father informed the station around 5:00pm on Thursday evening that his son, Ralpheal Tagoe had committed suicide.
When the police got to the scene, the body was found hanging on the ceiling.The note was also found on the bed of the deceased.
The body has since been deposited at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
