Boy, 8, kills his six-year-old brother with father's gun

Nkoranza (B/A), Jan. 11, GNA- Kwabena Asare, a six-year-old boy of Dompoase in the Nkoranza District died instantly when his elder brother, Kwasi Dagarti, aged eight, accidentally shot him with their father's gun on Wednesday.

Police Superintendent Benjamin Wiafe-Kwabeng in-charge of the Nkoranza police station named the father of the two boys as Mr Kwabena Baffoe, a farmer.

The police told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nkoranza that at about 3.30 pm on January 7, the two boys were said to be playing with the gun at home while the father was away when Kwasi Dagarti's finger pressed the trigger of the loaded gun which fired, and the pellets hit the forehead of Asare, killing him instantly. Supt. Wiafe-Kwabeng said the father has escaped from the area after the incident and the police are looking for him.
