An attempt by the NDC MP for Gomoa West, Hon. Ama Benyiwa Doe to deny reports that she slapped Daily Guide?s Baby Ansaba in the course of a newspaper review on a Tema-based radio station and suffered a retaliation crashed badly when she was exposed in the end as trying to cover up her acts of indiscretion. It all happened on Peacefm?s morning show last Thursday when Kwame Sefa Kayi called up the cantankerous Gomoa West MP for her comments on the story for that day which concerned her. Ama Benyiwa Doe initially denied that she slapped Baby Ansaba.
At a point, she even told Kwame Sefa Kayi ?How can I slap a man?? By the time Hon. Benyiwa Doe finished her submissions on the matter, she had succeeded in creating an impression that the story was a figment of someone?s imagination. Not one to be daunted by such unprofessional sophistry, Kwame Sefa Kayi started calling up key persons linked to the Benyiwa Doe ?slapping saga?. Ken Kuranchie, the editor of the Searchlight who was in the studio when the shameful incident occurred told Kwame Sefa Kayi that contrary to what Ama Benyiwa Doe was saying, she flicked her hand which hit Baby Ansaba, which occurrence elicited a kung fu chop from Baby Ansaba to her stomach, resulting in a brawl. Enter Baby Ansaba.
He told Kwami Sefa Kayi that Hon. Benyiwa Doe slapped him as a result of which he had no option that not hit her back. Though the director of the programmes of the radio station tried to play down the issue, the candid confirmations by Baby Ansaba and Ken Kuranchie compelled an obviously embarrassed Benyiwa Doe to virtually eat back her denial after incisive and probing rounds of questioning by Kwame Sefa-Kayi.
