Bretuo clan appeal to IGP on the Chinto murder

Nana Kumi Asante III, Ankobeahene of the Bretuo Clan of Aburi, has appealed to the Inspector General of Police to intervene in the killing of the Chief of Chinto, near Nsawam.

The late Chief of Chinto, Nana Kofi Mankata and his driver Richard Asante alias, Nana Yaw, were recently shot dead at Adoagyiri.

Nana Kumi Asante, making the appeal at a news conference at the Otoobour Djan Kwasi II Palace in Aburi, also pleaded with the President of the National House of Chiefs, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to assist in the case.

He said the Police had so far arrested Opare Joseph, Kwashie Odailai, aka Feehi, Nana Yaw Fianko III, aka Yaw Beeko Obuobi and Bibioo, aka Killer, of Adjin Kotoku.

He said these suspects have been arraigned before court by the Police in Accra. Nana Kumi Asante said the late Kofi Mankata officially swore an oath of allegiance to the Aburihene, Otoobour Nana Djan Kwasi and Akroponghene Nana Oseadeeyo Addo Danquah III.

Nana Kumi Asante said during the celebration of the last year’s Addae Butuw festival, a faction of the people wrongly enstooled one Obuobi as the chief of Chinto and this resulted in the violence.

Samuel Aful, Abusuapaying of Chinto, said last Friday some group of people wielding guns and other dangerous implement invaded the community to attack the youth leader of Chinto ,Attaah Nii Kwarjah (Jnr), and others.
