British HC, BBC donate computers to school

Accra, July 15, GNA - The British High Commission, in partnership with the producers of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) TV series, Holby City, has donated three flat screen computers and a laser printer to the Elmina OLA Girls Boarding School.

An official statement from the High Commission quoted Mr Simon Massey of BBC as saying the Elmina community played a huge role in the filming of the Ghana episode of the BBC series "Holby City". "Everyone was extremely supportive and this is a way of the crew, together with the British High Commission, giving something back to the people of Elmina."

He expressed the hope that the donation of the computers by the British High Commission would be the first step in building on the relationship between the school and the BBC.

Mr Massey's wish is to provide a computer workshop for the pupils of the OLA Girls Boarding School.

Sister Beatrice Hammond, the Headmistress, expressed their gratitude for the kind gesture and said they would take good care of the computers.
