British High Commission announces new visa fees

Accra, June 27, GNA - The British High Commission on Monday announced; "UK Visas, UK Government authority responsible for UK Visa policy, has now issued new the new Visa fees to be charged to UK visa applicants worldwide" with effect from July 1, 2005.
A statement issued by the Commission said, "some fees will rise, some will be reduced and others will remain unchanged. UK Visas will also simplify the fees structure and reduce the categories from 11 to four.
Under the new category visas to Commonwealth Countries, direct airside transit visa, in transit visit, join ship or Aircraft would attract 523,000 cedis while single, double and multiple visit visa valid up to six months would also cost 871,000 cedis. Visa applicants for longer-term validity visit and visas for other purposes including students and employment and certificate of entitlement would cost 1,482,000 cedis, whilst that of settlement and marriage would be 4,532,000 cedis.
