As part of its ongoing commitment to share experience and exchange knowledge, British Water will be visiting Ghana with a water industry delegation from 13-15 February 2002.
British Water is the lead organisation for the UK water and wastewater industry.
A press release from the British High Commission said members are capable of delivering custom-made solutions to all technical, financial, legal or administrative specification in water related projects anywhere in the world.
The group which includes operators, consultants, contractors, suppliers and engineers is led by Mr. John Ballard, Director of the Water Directorate in the Department of Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
Mr. Ballard is responsible for all aspect of water policy in England.
"The United Kingdom is keen to develop partnership with the Government authorities and the private sector in order to help Ghana to meet its environmental targets," the release said.
The delegation will hold key meetings the Government Ministries responsible for water supply and sewerage provision, together with the municipal authorities in Accra. The meetings will cover a range of topics including private sector partnership, water supply, wastewater treatment and leakage.
