The Deputy Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, Mr George Owusu, last week visited some potential tourist sites in the region. He visited the Asanteman Shrine at Sankore in the Asunafo District of the Brong-Ahafo region where he was briefed by Nana Tabiri Gyansah III, Krontihene of the town, on the historical background of the shrine which dates back some 400 years ago. Nana Tabiri Gyansah said the annual Oman Grove Asubo festival which has been done on a small-scale would be given prominence next year. Mr Owusu charged the people of Sankore to continue to keep the shrine as a sacred place to attract tourists. The district chief executive, Mr Solomon Opoku-Gyamera, said since 1994, a total of 771 million cedis had been released to the assembly as its share of the district assembly common fund. He said the assembly has embarked on 51 projects out of which 34 have been completed while 17 are still on-going.
