Former President John Dramani Mahama says the Brong Ahafo Region had its fair share of development under his tenure as President of Ghana and the least President Akufo-Addo could have done was to add to his (Mahama) significant gains instead of rolling back the clock of socio-economic transformation.

A statement signed by the Special Aide to the former President, Joyce Bawah Mogtari stated that after seventeen months in office the people of Ghana are still on the lookout for projects initiated by the President since he was sworn into office.

“It is regrettable that President Akufo-Addo has yet again failed to exhibit candour in his speech, this time to the Chiefs and people of Nkoranza in Brong Ahafo Region. It is even more worrying when there is overwhelming evidence of the massive investment made in the provision of various projects for the people of Ghana,” the statement reads.

President Akufo-Addo during his tour to the Brong Ahafo Region stated that the so-called unprecedented projects which former President John Dramani Mahama and his National Democratic Congress (NDC) government spoke about are nowhere to be found.

According to him, during the 2016 electioneering campaign, Ex-president Mahama accused him (Nana Addo), then presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), of not seeing the ‘rehabilitated roads because he was sleeping as he travelled to do his campaign throughout the country.

He indicated further that the brief period of his administration has witnessed the fulfilment of a number of promises he made to Ghanaians in the run-up to the 2016 elections.

But the former President insists he was able to provide tangible development in all sectors that enhanced the quality of life of Ghanaians.

John Mahama in his statement listed among his achievements the construction of the Dormaa Ahenkro - Nkrankwanta road, Dormaa Ahenkro Town roads, Dormaa Ahenkro- Babianiha roads, Babianiha- Antwirifo roads, Nkoranza Town roads, Nkoranza- Jema Road, Wenchi Town roads, Techiman Town roads, among others.

Under the health sector, John Mahama indicated that his administration constructed, equipped and operationalized five (5) polyclinics at Techimantia, Kwatire, Bomaa, Wamfie and Nkrankwanta.
