Members of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star on Saturday held a carnival in Accra as part of its Centenary celebration which falls on December 30.

Members of the Brotherhood walked from Kaneshie Traffic light to Circle ‘Obra Spot’ clad in all white and barefooted to observe the celebration, hosted by Ghana.

Bishop Kofi Agyepong, the Deputy Dean, College of Bishops of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, West Africa said as part of celebration, the Brotherhood Centenary Torch, located in Headquarters, Calabar, Nigeria arrived in Ghana.

Ghana is hosting the celebration in collaboration with Togo, Benin, and Ivory Coast.

Bishop Agyepong stated that some of activities earmarked for the anniversary included; devotions, visitation to dignitaries and thanksgiving service to light the centenary torch on Sunday May 5, at the Headquarters in Odorkor in Accra.

“Ghana has a special place in the kingdom of God, Ghana is the nation of God therefore if this Torch should live anywhere then it must come to Ghana and truly is in God”, he added.

According to him, the Torch is a symbol of honour and that anyone who beholds the torch receives blessing.

“It was not surprising that when the Torch arrived in Ghana, it rained before the start of the programme on Wednesday May 2, which testified the blessings bestowed on the country”.

He invited the public to join them in the thanksgiving service to celebrate the anniversary and blessings showered on the country.

The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star started in 1956 in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. By Olumba Olumba Obu. Their motto is Love, Faith, and Hope.
