Popular traffic solicitors Brothers Care Foundation is alleged to be a scam.

They are mostly seen in traffic, especially at Awoshie Baah Yard, Kwashieman and Dworwulu traffic lights, asking people to support their NGO with any amount of money.

The NGO, which is said to run by one Martha Ohenewaa, show gory photos of kids with all sorts of sicknesses – a strategy they use to win sympathy from passengers.

Ghanaian filmmaker Leila Djansi just branded them scammers and warned people to avoid giving them their hard-earned money.

She wrote on Facebook: “Dear Ghana family!

Please be advised this group Brothers Care Foundation run by Martha Ohenewaa is a SCAM! They scout social media for photos of innocent folks with various ailments, print advertising materials and profit from it.

You find them in the traffic soliciting for alms. They are a scam and do not give them your money.

If you want to support crowdfunding campaigns, follow the guidelines on the social media pages of legitimate people, public figures or legal business/NGOs.

Donate directly to the hospital, through your church, your jobs CSR office or Gofundme.

Please be vigilant and call out these cruel folks who capitalize on the misfortune of others. I had to put on my James Bond hat to crack this Martha Ohenewaa person! Please be vigilant!

Please continue to support those in dire straits health-wise, but be extra vigilant! Evil abounds.”
