Bugri Naabu can’t run from his voice - Pratt

Ace journalist Kwesi Pratt Junior has described as strange, attempts by the Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Daniel Bugri Naabu to distance himself from the content of the recently leaked tape recording on which he (Bugri Naabu) was heard doubting the loyalty of some key national executives of the party.

On the said tape, a voice purported to be that of Bugri Naabu claimed the party’s national chairman Paul Afoko, general secretary Kwabena Agyepong and others have already received V8 vehicles from President John Mahama’s brother, Ibrahim.

The voice also claimed the two opposition executives are being protected by National Security personnel.

A former General Secretary of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition Nana Ohene Ntow has called for his suspension over the secret tape.

Although Bugri Naabu has denied ever making such claims, the party’s national chairman has ordered a forensic probe into the matter.

Commenting on the issue on Radio Gold’s ‘Alhaji and Alhaji’ Saturday, Pratt said he has no doubt the voice on the tape is Bugri Naabu’s.

“I know Bugri very well and I have listened to this tape many times and I take the claim that this is not his voice with a full bag of salt.

“Even the way he expresses himself, his use of language and so on, how can he say that is not his voice?

“And as if that settles the matter; it doesn't in any way in view of the seriousness of the claims that were made on the tape,” Pratt noted.
