A devastating incident occurred at Sewua in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, when a two-story building collapsed, claiming the life of a 45-year-old mason, Kwaku Gyamfi.

The deceased, a father of five, was trapped under the wreckage, and despite efforts to rescue him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Eyewitnesses, in an interview with OTEC News reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng, revealed that five others escaped death in the unfortunate incident.

They noted that it took several hours for security officials to arrive at the location, and by the time they managed to extricate the deceased from the wreckage, he was dead.

The body has been deposited at a morgue by the police, pending investigation.
