Controversial Ghanaian boxer-musician, Braimah Kamoko popularly known as Bukom Banku has announced his decision and full preparedness to contest the upcoming National Democratic Congress NDC Presidential Primaries.

In a discussion with Amewugah Evans, the sports host on SVTV Africa, Bukom Banku was emphatic about his intentions to run on the ticket of the NDC, and consequently as President of the Republic of Ghana.

Bukom Banku is widely credited with giving Ghana Boxing a new life with his much-touted bout with archrival Ayittey Powers and later with Samir Bastie.

This latest announcement from the camp of the boxer comes in following his defeat to Samir Bastie and an accident involving the Boxer’s Toyota Corrola and a Mercedez Benz Sprinter which occurred on the Osu-Labadi road, last week resulting in many injuries to occupants of the bus.

The highly popular NDC sympathizer seemed to have put all that behind him as he sets his eye on leading the NDC to recapture power from the New Patriotic Party, NPP under President Nana Akufo Addo and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Readers will recall Mr Braimah Kamoko’s spirited campaign for the National Democratic Congress NDC in the run-up to the December 2016 elections. Mr Braimah Kamoko even composed songs and organized his own rallies to rally around his support base for the former President of Ghana and then flagbearer of the NDC party, John Dramani Mahama.

With Bukom Banku’s announcement, it brings to a total number six, the people who have so far declared their intentions to contest the NDC primaries key among them being, in no particular order, Prof Joshua Alabi, Mr Stephen Atubiga, Dr Ekow Spio-Garbrah, Mr Sylvester Adinam Mensah, Alban Sumana Kingsford Gbagbin and now Mr Braimah Kamoko.
