Kwadwo Boakye is in police custody pending further investigations into the incident.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the incident at Nkawie on Thursday, Police Chief Inspector Ben Antwi said the culprit claimed that his daughter, Somi Chebu, was a thief and indisciplined, that was why he burnt her mouth.

Chief Inspector Antwi said the suspect told the police during interrogation that his daughter did not respect him and was also eating from neighbour's houses.

He said the suspect further stated that his daughter frequently stole his money.
