Before Ghana headed to the December 7, 2024, general elections, some individuals made extreme promises and prophecies regarding the outcome.

These individuals sparked controversy and debate across the nation with their extreme proclamations.

1.Benjamin Gyewu

Benjamin Gyewu-Appiah, a communication team member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), made a declaration on Original TV on November 26, 2024.

Gyewu-Appiah vowed to burn himself alive on live television if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, John Dramani Mahama, wins the presidential election.

He expressed confidence in the victory of his party's candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and insisted he would fulfill his promise if proven wrong.

“If John Mahama wins this election burn me alive with kerosene in this studio live. Live studio for everyone to watch.”

2.Prophet Azuka

Prophet Azuka, a Ghanaian man of God, in an old video prophesied Dr. Bawumia's victory.

He claimed divine revelation assured him of Bawumia's win and went as far as to say that Ghanaians should burn his church if his prophecy does not come true.

“Mark today’s date somewhere, that Bawumia will win the elections if he doesn’t win burn my church,” he said.

3.Nana Agradaa

Nana Agradaa, the founder and leader of the Heaven Way Church, also made a prophecy.

Formerly a fetish priestess, Nana Agradaa stated that she would renounce her faith in God and Christianity if Dr. Bawumia does not win the election.

She claimed to have received a divine vision of Bawumia's victory and urged Ghanaians to vote for him, asserting that his win is predestined.

If her prophecy fails, she vowed to return to her former life as a fetish priestess.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, officially conceded defeat to his main opponent, John Dramani Mahama, in Ghana’s 2024 Presidential Election.

Dr. Bawumia made the announcement at a press conference on Sunday, December 8, 2024, emphasizing that his decision to concede defeat was motivated by the need to reduce tension and preserve national peace.

He promised that his government would ensure a smooth transition of power to John Mahama and is available to help when the need arises.
