Burry political differences - Oti Prempeh

Manso-Nkwanta (Ash), June 25, GNA - The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie West in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Charles Oti Prempeh, has stressed the need for Ghanaians to bury their political differences and rally behind President J. E. A. Mills to rebuild the nation. He said with the December elections over, the most important thing for the people to do is to unite and work to push the country forward. Mr. Oti Prempeh made the call last Monday when he officially introduced himself to Nana Bi-Appiah II, Omanhene of the Manso-Nkwanta Traditional Area.

He mentioned education, health and the improvement of road networks as part of his areas of priority for the development of the district. On education, he said his administration would team up with the District Education Office to find lasting solutions to the falling educational standards in the area, while also teaming up with the Health Directorate to see how best the health facilities in the district could be improved.

The DCE added that the poor road network in the district which posed a major challenge to his administration, would also be addressed. The Omanhene of the area, Nana Bi-Kusi Appiah, on his part congratulated the new DCE on his appointment, and appealed to the people in the area to unite and team up with the DCE and Member of Parliament (MP) to push the development of the district forward. Nana Bi-Kusi asked parents to invest more in their children's education to enable them to become responsible citizens. The MP for Amansie West, Mrs. Grace Addo, called on the people to team up and contribute towards the development of the district, irrespective of whether they were NDC or NPP supporters. 25 June 09
