Business activities in the Central Business District (CBD) in Accra have bounced back two days after Ghana went to the polls.

Shops which closed on Saturday, December 7, 2024, Election Day have opened for business activities, and traders are busily plying their trade.

When the Ghana News Agency (GNA) visited the CBD, traders whose party won the presidential and parliamentary elections, were seen clad in party paraphernalia.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) paraphernalia in the colours of red, green, black and white, were in high demand.

Commercial drivers were seen at various traffic intersections and bus stops picking up passengers.

The GNA observed that there was less traffic on most of the streets within the CBD.

Porters were seen carrying various loads in pans to various vehicle stations or bus terminals

The various banks within the CBD had opened for business.

Michael Tabi, a fabric seller at the Makola Market told the GNA that sales were slow in the morning but picked up in the afternoon.

Madam Alice Donkor, a tomato seller, said she had not made any sales since the morning but was optimistic that she would make some profit by the close of day.

Abdul Malik, a commercial driver told the GNA that business was slow in the morning but picked up in the afternoon.
