Mr. Jude Teddy Baffoe, a respected businessman, has initiated a GHS 6 million defamation lawsuit at the High Court in Accra against Mr. Tennyson Quarshie-Ankrah (alias MR Rocwel) and Ms. Alexis Owusu Boahene (alias Lexy Boahene). The lawsuit accuses both individuals of engaging in a deliberate and sustained defamation campaign against him on social media.

The defamation claims stem from events in July 2022 when a social media account named "Maame" accused various people of philandering and homosexual activities involving Mr. Quarshie-Ankrah. Tennyson claimed to have evidence linking an IP address to Mr. Baffoe’s address in Bromley, England, which triggered Lexy Boahene to share Mr. Baffoe’s photo with defamatory captions on her social media.

Mr. Baffoe Seeks Amicable Resolution

Initially, Mr. Baffoe believed the situation could be resolved amicably. He contacted both Tennyson and Lexy to request a retraction and apology. However, his efforts were met with resistance, prompting him to instruct his lawyers to investigate the IP address claim, which revealed that Tennyson’s accusations were fabricated.

Legal Action Escalates

Mr. Baffoe's legal team sought a Norwich Pharmacal Order from the London High Court, compelling the social media platform to reveal the source of the alleged IP address claim. The platform confirmed that no such evidence existed, exposing Tennyson’s claims as false.

Court Notice Ignored and Misleading Claims

After receiving notices of court action, Lexy Boahene initially claimed ignorance of Mr. Baffoe but later admitted her role in the defamatory campaign. Meanwhile, Tennyson, rather than responding to the legal notice, shifted his narrative on social media, redirecting the accusation of cyberbullying to another individual.

Historical Context: Relationship Between the Parties

According to court documents, Mr. Baffoe and Tennyson first met 28 years ago while attending school in The Netherlands. Although their interactions have been minimal over the past 18 years, Tennyson’s recent actions have, irrevocably, damaged their relationship.

Final Attempts at Resolution

In April 2024, Tennyson attempted to privately resolve the matter with Mr. Baffoe, who declined, insisting on resolving the matter publicly through the court. Mr. Baffoe emphasized that Tennyson should publicly address the false allegations in court, just as he had done on social media.

Delusion and Deception: Tennyson’s Online Persona

The lawsuit also highlights Tennyson's false portrayal of himself as an airline pilot on social media, further questioning his credibility. This delusional behavior, combined with the fabricated IP address story, is central to Mr. Baffoe’s defamation claims.

Conclusion: Seeking Justice

Mr. Baffoe’s lawsuit seeks to clear his name and hold Tennyson and Lexy accountable for their damaging actions. The case is set to proceed in court, where the truth behind the allegations will be scrutinized.
