Busunya Secondary School commended

Nkoranza (B/A), Dec. 2, GNA- The Nkoranza District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has commended the staff and students of Busunya Senior Secondary School in the District for their splendid performance at this year's Regional Constitution game competition for Senior Secondary Schools in Brong Ahafo, held at Sunyani recently.

Mr Sammy Asumah, District Director of the Commission told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nkoranza on Thursday that, Busunya Secondary School which represented the District placed second in the competition participated by 10 Districts.

He said Mansen Secondary School in the Dormaa District was first and that the School had been the champions in such competition for two consecutive years.

Mr Asumah appreciated the efforts of the staff of the school as they prepared the students well for the competition. He urged them to work harder in order that they could snatch the championship trophy from Mansen Secondary School.

He cautioned them against their involvement in any negative attitudes and practices that could mar the December 7 elections. In a related development, the Headmaster of Busunya Secondary School, Mr. Abubakari Ankomah praised the staff for their hard workf, which enabled the School to obtained 100 percent passes in this year's Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), saying all the 65 candidates submitted for the examination were successful. He called on the continuing students to take their studies seriously and build upon the enviable record of the school. Meanwhile, a citizen of Busunya and an educationist, Dr. Kwasi Nsiah-Gyabaah has donated 500,000 cedis towards the organisation of a Christmas party for the staff of the school and to encourage them to work harder to move education forward in the community.
