C/R records 26 births during Christmas

Winneba (C/R), Dec. 26, GNA- Four health institutions in the Central Region on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, recorded 26 births, made up of 15 males and 11 females.

At the Winneba Government Hospital, Sister Rebecca Anderson, Senior Staff-Midwife at the Maternity Ward told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that three births; a male and two females were recorded at the hospital. She said two of the births were recorded on Christmas Eve and one on Boxing Day adding that all the babies and their mothers were in good condition.

At the Kasoa Health Centre, six births; 4 males and two female were recorded.

The Midwifery Superintendent of the Center, Sister Augustina Arthur said the birth of two males and a female were recorded on Christmas Eve, while the birth of two males and a female were recorded on Boxing Day. At the Our Lady of Grace of Hospital at Breman Asikuma, a total of 12 births were recorded on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Madam Antoinette Badabu, Principal Staff Midwife in-charge of the Maternity Ward of the Hospital, said on Christmas Day, the birth of three males and three females were recorded and that of five males and a female recorded on Boxing Day. At the Apam Catholic Hospital, a total of five births were recorded.

Sister Cecelia Odum, Senior Staff Midwife at the Maternity Ward of the Hospital, told the GNA that the births, made up of two females and a male were recorded on Christmas Day, and that of a female and female were recorded on Boxing day.
