The Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI) has presented scholarships to 41 brilliant but needy students to pursue various degree programmes at universities across the country.

The students, who were selected based on their background and academic qualifications, are pursuing careers in Business, Technology, and Tourism.

The scholarship would cover their tuition and hostel fees during their four-year degree programmes.
Since 2011, when the scheme started, 342 students have been supported.

Addressing a special gathering at the CACI Nima Branch in Accra, Apostle Dr. Stephen Kwame Amoani, Chairman of CACI, said the Church had demonstrated the supernatural power of God in Ghana and Africa and equally partnered the State towards making social interventions to improve the wellbeing of citizens.

Apostle Dr Amoani said he was elated that the scholarship scheme had produced a medical doctor and a Teaching Assistant: Dr Mary Nyamekye and Ms Deborah Amesaki.

He, therefore, appealed to the various congregations to give more to aid such students in the coming years as their service to humanity.

In reaching out to the society, he said, the Church established the Christ Apostolic Agency for Relief Development (CAARD), which was into cassava growing and processing at Atebubu in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Due to the hard work of the CAARD, the Agency recently won a contract award from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

“I will like to urge you to pray for the Church in the coming years, to be able to make significant interventions to help the Government of the day to build a strong nation, enviable by all.”

He, however, said more goodies awaited students who would pursue their degree programmes at the Christ Apostolic Church University.

Mr George Anto-Boateng, Chairman of the CACI Scholarship Committee, and a lecturer of Radford University, appealed to Pastors of the various branches to inform their congregations about the scholarships.

Mr Anto- Boateng said very soon the Church was going to launch a special appeal for fund to aid the Committee’s work so they could lend a hand to more people.

Ms Emmanuella Ofowa Quansah, a beneficiary, on behalf of her colleagues, expressed gratitude to the God and the Church for empowering the youth to develop their full potentials for national development.

Ms Quansah said the scholarship was a dream come true and thus assured that they would work hard to make the Church, and indeed, the nation, proud.

CACI is a Pentecostal evangelical church, founded by Apostle Peter Anim (of blessed memory) more than a century ago.
