The Christian Council of Ghana is organizing an Interdenominational Memorial Church Service for the victims of last Wednesday’s fire and flood disaster which claimed over 150 lives in Accra.

The memorial service, which is in line with the 3 days of mourning declared by His Excellency President John Mahama is to contribute to the healing process of the nation and the families that have been affected.

It will also offer a national platform for families and friends to gather and remember the deceased while offering support and comfort to one another in this moment of national grieve. The service will be held at the Osu Ebenezer Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Osu-Accra on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 6pm.

The Council invites the affected families, friends, church leaders, government officials, political parties, corporate organisations, diplomats and members of the media to attend the service.

Family members of the deceased and other stakeholders are encouraged to contact the Council on 0244801324 for further information.

It is our prayer that our good Lord will comfort the affected families and deliver us from any future tragedy in Jesus’ name.

We encourage everyone with 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 which reads, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
