CDD Is Corrupt & Kufuor Is A Flop

How can one rely on their so-called research, they just play to the gallery, a lot of the members are only out to make money, I would not trust the CDD for anything". "Dr. Agyeman Duah and his friends will always crucify the NDC then they can satisfy their paymasters".

A member of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Parliament, Hon. Michael Teye Nyaunu, has accused the Ghana Centre for Democratic Development (CDD) of putting financial gains on top of its agenda.

He described the centre as one that is only interested in singing the praises of the government in order to win favours. In an interview with the MP, Hon. Teye Nyaunu told the Enquirer in Accra that results of the by-election held in Odododiodio is one case to prove the bias of the CDD. The MP noted that at the time the CDD came out with a report saying that the popularity of government was swelling; the people of Odododiodio had proved their research findings wrong. Hon. Nyaunu who is also the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Lower Manya Krobo constituency in the Eastern Region said that since the CDD was established to seek foreign support financially, all it does it to present good image of government to receive funding. "How can one rely on their so-called research, they just play to the gallery, a lot of the members are only out to make money, I would not trust the CDD for anything", he said.

These comments come on the heels of statements from the CDD that their reports are not skewed, neither are they timed, to put the ruling NPP government in a good light.

It is also worthy of note that CDD is manned by publicly respected individuals like Prof. Gyimah Boadi and Dr. Baffour Agyeman Duah.

Interestingly at the recent meet the press series at the Castle, the President, whom the CDD is accused of protecting, also took a swipe at CDD and the other agencies that have issued reports, which suggest that public perception of corruption against the NPP government is widespread. The MP lamented that the CDD and the other agencies such as the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) and the Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII) always allege corruption without proving, saying, "this perception must remain in their heads. The MP, who is also known as ?Maradonna' for his political skills, observed that the voters in Odododiodio have proved that as far as issues of government's popularity are concerned, the NPP could not achieve success in Odododiodio. The MP added that as a party, the NDC never shares the ideas of the CDD, which he said, is in line with NPPs concept of property owning democracy. "Dr. Agyeman Duah and his friend will always crucify the NDC then they can satisfy their paymasters", he said.

He described the NPP government as one full of corrupt individuals who are only interested in enriching themselves. Hon. Nyaunu also took a swipe at President Kufuor and described his government as a total failure. He noted that a lot has been said about the President's Special Initiative at Bawjiase Cassava farm, but reports coming from the place are one of failure.
