CEO of Chamber of Independent Power Producers donates 20 streetlights to UHAS

The CEO of the Chamber of Independent Power Producers of Ghana, Dr. Elikplim Kwabla Apetorgbor has generously donated 20 streetlights worth Ghc14,000 to UHAS to improve campus lighting and enhance security.

This donation addresses a critical need for better illumination, which directly impacts the safety and well-being of the university community.

Ms. Jemima Misonu Akporlu, Vice President of UHAS Alumni, presented the donation on Dr. Apetorgbor's behalf. She highlighted a recent incident where four students were attacked by unknown assailants while returning to their hostel from campus. Ms. Akporlu emphasized that Dr. Apetorgbor is a supportive friend of the university, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and safety for students and staff alike.

Prof. Lydia Aziato, the Vice-Chancellor, accepted the donation on behalf of the University. She expressed deep gratitude for this significant contribution and assured that the lights would be promptly installed to boost campus security and improve night-time visibility. Prof. Aziato also took the opportunity to appeal to other organizations and benevolent individuals to support the University in similar impactful ways.

The opportunity was also used to introduce the UHAS SONAM ALUMNI EXECUTIVES comprising; Mr. Obed Kweku Amenyo the President, Ms. Mary Adaeze Udeoha (Secretary) Mr. Fabian Normenyo Etse (Financial Secretary) and Mr. Julius Okine (Organiser).

Attendees at the donation ceremony included the Registrar, Ms. Yaa Amankwaa Opuni, and Prof. Frank Edwin, Dean of the School of Medicine.
