A Call to the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate government on the $ 2.5 billion bond issued is a useless venture and attention seeking by the petitioner, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said.
The Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Brogya Genfi wants the state institution to investigative government on allegations of conflict of interest.
The Minority in parliament alleged that Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta promoted a personal interest in the deal securing 95% of the bond from family members and cronies in government.
The NDC Organizer in his capacity as a private citizen presented a petition to CHRAJ to investigate claims by the minority Members of Parliament (MPs).
Speaking to the development, the Deputy Executive Director in charge of operations at the National Service Scheme (NSS), Henry Nana Boakye described the move as a useless venture embarked on by the petitioner.
“Brogya Genfi is a monumental failure as youth organizer of his party. He is only seeking attention and sympathy from NDC youth”
“He failed as organizer to bring the NDC youth together before the 2016 polls. He abandoned them and sought for his personal interest to become Member of Parliament in Suame Constituency where he knows he cannot win”.
“Now he wants to run for national youth organizer position and is doing all these to get votes”
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicator also refuted claims by Mr. Brogya Genfi that NPP promised to make military and police recruitment forms free to applicants interested in joining any of the security services.
“We never promised to make recruitment forms free. What we said was that the amount being sold at the time was higher”, he explained on Nhyira FM.
Nana Boakye popularly called Nana B also confirmed speculations to contest NPP National Youth Organizer position as more names pop up.
