CJ condemns leadership without integrity

Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood has asked leaders in the country to uphold a high sense of integrity in the discharge of their duties.

Justice Wood said a country whose leaders lack integrity will face challenges in its quest for socio-economic development.

The Chief Justice made these remarks while mentoring students from 10 schools as part of the 7th Annual Lady Chief Justice’s Mentoring Programme.

The Programme was on the theme: “Service in Integrity to Ghana: The Role of the Youth”.

Chief Justice Wood advised the students as potential leaders to shun corruption.

“Start thinking of corruption [and] what [it] does to a country, what it does to an individual, what it does to homes, what it does to other citizens,” she stated.

She said the country would have been in tatters if the judiciary, which is headed by the Chief Justice, for example, was without integrity.

The students were taken through guided tour of the Judicial Service and were made to observe court sessions.

The Programme began in 2007 under the sponsorship of the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA).
