CPIC to construct Church building

Agona Swedru, Jan 25, GNA - The Central Regional branch of the Christian Praise International Centre (CPIC) is to construct a 600-million-cedi Church building with modern offices and a Mission House at Swedru in the Agona District.

Presiding Elder Opoku Bamfo announced this when the Presiding Bishop of the Church, the Right Reverend Dr Augustine Annor-Yeboah visited the Agona Swedru branch to acquaint himself with its problems and see how best to solve them.

Elder Opoku-Bamfo said land had been acquired and the project would start very soon.

The Presiding Elder said the project, which would take the Church a year to complete, would be financed through harvest, offertory, contributions and assistance from the Headquarters in Accra. He said the Church has three braches at Agona Nsaba, Gomoa Oguaakrom and Swedru, adding that, branches are to be opened at Assin Fosu, Cape Coast, Winneba, Breman-Asikuma and Apam.

Elder Opoku-Bamfo stated that the Regional headquarters of the Church at Swedru had embarked on a vigorous evangelism drive to win more souls for Christ.

Bishop Annor-Yeboah said three vehicles imported by the Church for its evangelism had arrived in the country.

He said the church would hold crusades early next month at Agona Swedru and Gomoa Oguaakrom on the Swedru/Winneba road.

Bishop Anoor-Yeboah who formed the Church about a year ago said CPIC now had about 30,000 members, adding that, it also had foreign branches. He advised members of the Church to desist from acts that would dent the image of the Church and to uphold the principles of God for others to join.
