WOODBRIDGE, Virginia; October 10, 2007 --- This release announces for information of the PRESS and general public, formation of Convention People’s Party North America Chapter (CPPNA Chapter) to cater to the needs and aspirations of all its prospective members in the Washington, DC and Baltimore Metropolis.

Formation of CPPNA Chapter in the area is in response to the meeting of the minds of individuals who share a common interest in the social history of emergence of Ghana as a premier independent sovereign nation in Africa. The CPPNA is a registered non-profit tax-exempt organization.

CPPNA Chapter is a social organization admitting everyone who appreciates the best traditions and practices of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) of Ghana, founded by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and his compatriots in 1949. The CPP (Ghana), served as the vanguard for post-World War II liberation of the Gold Coast and emancipation of the rest of Africa from European colonization.

CPP Chapter’s purpose is to serve as a public forum in the Washington, DC-Baltimore Metropolis for the discussion, education and information about the history, culture, economics and politics of Ghana, as entry point into the reality of Africa. CPP Chapter will engage in the organization of public lectures, symposia and other forms of mass social discourse.

CPP Chapter will encourage formation of local neighborhood groupings for ease of executing organizational activities and effective bonding of the membership. FORWARD EVER
