CPP Flagbearer calls on National Chief Imam

Mr. Abu Sakara Foster, the Flagbearer of Convention People’s Party (CPP) has paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharabutu, at his residence in Accra.

A statement issued in Accra by the Party copied to Ghana News Agency on Thursday, said the visit was to introduce himself as the CPP flagbearer, a son of the Chief Imam and to seek prayers for a peaceful Election 2012.

“I am here to introduce myself to you as your son who has been elected to lead the CPP and subsequently lead the country on January 7, 2013. I need your prayers as a son that Almighty God will continue to strengthen me, provide me with enough wisdom and encouragement to be able to do the work when I ascend the throne,” the statement quoted him as saying.

It said the CPP Flagbearer was given a rousing welcome, when he presented “DADUMA” a mat that Muslims used to pray to the Chief Imam, some items, and appealed to the Chief Imam to lead Ghanaians to pray for peace ahead of Election 2012.

Sheikh Sharabutu expressed appreciation to the CPP Flagbearer for the kind gesture and assured him that the Muslim Community would continue to pray for the CPP and the country to remain peaceful.

He urged Dr. Sakara Foster to do a clean campaign which would endear him to the electorate to elect him on December 7.

Dr. Foster was accompanied by Mr. Abu Forgor, CPP National Organiser and Mr. Thomas Ntumy, National Campaign Manager of the CPP.**
