The United Kingdom & Ireland Branch of the Convention People ‘s Party (CPP) has moved to rally global support for the new Presidential Candidate – Dr Papa Kwesi Ndoum, and the new Leadership and Management of the CPP. Speaking on Voice of Africa Radio (VOAR) from its first Executive meeting of the year in London, the Branch Chairman, two Vice Chairmen, Organisers, and various senior members of the Branch took turns to announce a united front with the new leadership of the Party.
The Branch also took the opportunity to assure the newly elected National Executive, led by the Chairman and Leader- Mr Ladi Nylander- of its unflinching loyalty and full support to ensure the CPP emerges victorious in the 2008 General Elections.
The CPP UK & Ireland Branch announced further its profound gratitude to all the 33 contestants who vied for the 10 Executive positions, especially the other 5 Presidential Aspirants, namely; Mr George Aggudey, Dr Kwaku Osafo, Mr Bright Akwetey, Prof. Agyeman Badu Akosa and Dr. Frederick Akuffo, for their logistical and financial support that has contributed to the on-going resurgence of the CPP, and saluted all the Polling Station, Ward, Constituency and Regional Executives who worked around the clock in organising their various electoral primaries leading to the successful National Congress. The Branch also expressed gratitude to the outgoing Central Committee members and Regional Officers for their selflessness, service and sacrifice during their tenure, especially Dr. Edmund Delle, Prof. Nii Noi Dowouna and Mr Martin Donkoh.
The CPP Branch noted also that it has served all previous Party Chairmen and Leaders, as well as Flagbearers of this 4th Republic and will continue to do so, that it will work tirelessly and support Dr. Nduom and the New Leader in the Party’s march to its home, the Flagstaff House in January 2009.
The Executive meeting paid tribute to CPP activists and gallant party workers saying a “THANK YOU” and “AYEEKOO” for their efforts in keeping the CPP flag flying.
The live VOAR broadcast from the CPP Branch Executive meeting ended amidst singing of patriotic Ghanaian and CPP songs, with a global appeal to Ghana’s Youth everywhere, that “ the CPP was now the home of the youth, and it is the responsibility of every young Ghanaian, to rally to the CPP cause to help it back to government and to help make Ghana even better and happier for all its citizens”
The Leadership of the Branch had earlier conveyed personal and direct messages of support and congratulations to Dr Ndoum, Mr Nylander and the various elected officials of the Party, on behalf of the UK & Ireland Branch.
