CPP extends solidarity to UK’s Labour Party

The Convention Peoples PartyThe Convention Peoples Party

The Convention Peoples Party (CPP) has released a message of solidarity to Great Britain’s Labour Party, wishing them success in their upcoming December 12 elections.

The Labour Party is a centre-left to left-wing political party in the United Kingdom that has been described as an alliance of social democrats, democratic socialists and trade unionists.

Below is the release from the CPP:

MESSAGE OF SOLIDARITY TO THE LABOUR PARTY OF GREAT BRITAIN FROM THE CONVENTION PEOPLE’S PARTY, CPP OF GHANA.

Attention Jeremy Corbyn

Dear Comrades,

The Convention People’s Party of Ghana has noted the once in a generational electoral battle the Labour Party of the United Kingdom is engaged in to change the lives of the peoples of Great Britain.

This battle is part of the larger war to do away with the austerity politics which has brought untold hardship not only on the working people of your country but led to widespread poverty, misery and exploitation with reckless abandon in Ghana and other developing countries.

Austerity and unrestrained global capture which you are fighting have led to unbridled and unsustainable exploitation of our environment leading to deforestation, pollution of air, water bodies and severe climate change consequences of droughts and floods.

The CPP is inspired by your radical manifesto of enabling the public democratic control of water, electricity, rail and the provision of welfare for the many whose labour create the wealth of the society.

We also note with satisfaction your policy on imperial Britain’s history of inimical colonization and believe it will bring about a genuine reconciliation within the commonwealth and a healthy economic and social relations among our countries.

We wish you well and great success in this election. We do send this message of support and solidarity in anticipation of your success in the December 12, 2019 elections.
