Agomeda, April 5, GNA - Mr George Aggudey , flagbearer of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) has praised traditional leaders who have consistently kept the peace and helped to develop their areas as part of the over-all national development effort.
Speaking as a special guest at the annual 'Pam-Yam' festival of the chiefs and people of Agomeda, the capital of the Shai traditional council, Mr Aggudey entreated traditional rulers to use the reign of Nene Nagai Kassa, VII, as a model for emulation.
"His 55 years reign is one of success, unity and progress for al Dangmes and I am proud to be part of this success story," he stated. Mr Aggudey said the exploits of Nene Kassa VII is worth of emulation because he had taken a cue from the CPP doctrine of ensuring national unity and care for his people.
In this wise, he announced that his party is compiling a list of all abandoned projects initiated by the first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah for re-activation when voted into power in the December elections.
Mr Aggudey said Dangme citizens have the attributes to lead the nation and asked the electorate to vote for him and the party massively in December.
The CPP flagbearer's entourage included first and second deputy national youth organisers Koo Mensah Frimpong Mr George Lamptey and Ms. Rosemary Anim, deputy women' organiser.
