The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has nominated Nana Gabby Nsiah Nketiah as vice-presidential nominee to partner flag bearer Ivor Kobina Greenstreet for the 2016 polls.

A press release issued by the Director of Communication of the CPP, Issifu Kadiri Abdul Rauf on Thursday September 29 stated: “The party took this decision squarely on the account of his versatility, understanding of the party's philosophies, and his great exposure and maturity.”

By this nomination, the party said it hoped “he will effectively complement the flag bearer given his deep understanding of the predicaments of the country”.

Nana Gabby Nketiah is a retired diplomat, traditional ruler (honorary title conferred on him by the people of Duayaw Nkwanta in the Brong Ahafo Region), and a businessman. He was born on 1 October 1943 at Fiapre near Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region. He served as Ambassador to Korea under President John Kufuor in 2008.

The party said he has a strong Nkrumahist background and is a guitarist who occasionally performed for Ghana’s first President Dr Kwame Nkrumah. He is also an engineer and has served in the Ghana and British armies.

He is married to Monica Nee Kusi and is blessed with five children.
