CPP's constituency is whole nation- Campaign Manager

Sunyani, July 28, GNA - Mr. Richmond Lankwei Lamptey, Campaign Manager, Convention People's Party (CPP), at the weekend stated that the party does not only have a particular region or constituency as its stronghold of supporters but rather the entire nation is a stronghold of the party.

He said this indicated clearly that the CPP has a greater chance of winning the December elections. Mr. Lamptey made the statement in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after the party's three-day monitoring tour to twelve constituencies in Brong-Ahafo. He said the visit was part of the strategic plans to reach the people in the rural areas to strengthen the party's structures, educate and encourage party members at the constituency level to participate in the voters' registration to ensure the party's victory in the forth-coming general elections. The constituencies he visited were Tano North and South, Asutifi North and South, Techiman North and South, Asunafo North and South, Kintampo North and South and Nkoranza North and South. The campaign manager said that the exercise started with Central, Northern, Volta, Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo and Eastern regions and would be taken to the other regions to enable them to reach people in all the 230 constituencies before the opening of the voter's registration to create awareness among the people.

Mr. Lamptey noted that at all the constituencies he visited people have understood the party's policies and had expressed confidence in the party and that they were willing to support the party morally, physically and emotionally to ensure victory in the December polls. "The CPP you see today is a different party with different structures and better policies that would help the people of this country and that is the reason why people have shown match interest in the party", he added.

He said that the CPP was not sleeping and plans were underway to organise rallies at all the constituencies and disclosed that party leader Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom's second visit to Brong-Ahafo would commence on August 12. 28 July 08
