CPP to institute a more humane economic policy

Koforidua, June 29, GNA - The Convention People's Party (CPP) would put in place more human-centred economic policies that would give relief to the poor and enable the average Ghanaian to live a decent life when voted into power.

"We would learn from the Great Dr Kwame Nkrumah and how he was able to overcome the economic crisis of his time to launch the industrial revolution of the country and create jobs for the youth."

The Deputy National Treasurer of the CPP, Mr Ekow Duncan, who made this assertion at a fund-raising rally at Koforidua, predicted that the Party would stun people at the end of the forthcoming general election by the number of parliamentary seats that it would win.

Mr Duncan said the poverty being experienced by Ghanaians was "needless and avoidable", considering the good climatic conditions the country had and the rich natural resources.

He asked the Party Supporters to mobilize funds to push its agenda forward and not to forget that "we are a political party with the main objective to rule the country, it then behoves us to do away with all vices that would stand on our way to victory".

Mr Duncan said it would be better if the party could generate funds to support the aspiring candidates of the CPP so that they would owe their allegiance to the Party and the electorate.

The Eastern Regional Chairman of the Party, Mr Owusu Sekyere said it would not keep silent in recounting the achievements of the Party and the impact it had made on the political and socio-economic development of the country.

He asked members of the Party to desist from making unreasonable demands from the Leadership and but focus on its reorganization to warrant the support of all Ghanaians in the coming elections. Mr Owusu Sekyere called on all Ghanaians to support the CPP and vote for it to continue with the good works started by their Leaders.
