Tema, Nov. 19, GNA - Mrs Yvonne Nduom, wife of the flag bearer of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, on Tuesday said, a CPP government intents establishing "Women Enterprise Development Fund" to offer women the opportunity to access loans at low interest rate..
She said this, together with other programmes has been outlined to help women to improve their lot and urged them to campaign and vote for the CPP to enable it to realize the intention. Mr Nduom was touring markets at Tema community two, five, nine and Ashaiman to canvass for votes, and was welcomed cheerfully by the market women, who were shouting the slogan "yeresesem", meaning change. She said governance under the CPP would transform the nation to enable it to attain middle income status, because the party has good policies for the accelerated development of the entire nation to improve the socio-economic status of Ghanaians.
Mr Nduom however said these policies would not become a reality, if they do not vote the party into power and called for the intensification of their campaigns to win the December 7 elections. She said the party also intents reactivating the collapsed industries, to create jobs for the youth and step up production of goods for the benefit of the people.
She expressed her joy at the layouts and durability of the markets, especially, that of community two, which were built in the 1950's and praised Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the first president of the nation for his foresight.
Mrs Nduom expressed her optimism that the CPP would continue with the good works of Dr Nkrumah and his vision, by championing the cause of the ordinary Ghanaian with dignity, devotion and purpose, if it wins power.
During her tour, most of the people appealed for membership cards and were directed to call at the party's office in Tema for registration.
She was accompanied by Mrs Susan Adu-Amankwa, Greater Accra regional chairman of the party, who assured Ghanaian seafarers of reactivating the Black Star Line to create jobs for them if the CPP wins power.
