Three Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) into advocacy, conflict resolution and peace management have engaged key stakeholders in the Dagbon State over the performance of the upcoming funerals of the late two Yaa-Naas.

These are the National Peace Council (NPC), the Dagbon Forum (DF) and the West Africa Network for Peace Building (WANEP)- Ghana.

A delegation from the three organizations on Saturday, November 8 2018 jointly met the Dagbon Regent, Kampakuya Naa Yakubu Abdulai Andani, the Boling-Lana Mahamadu Abdulai, Kuga-Naa, Gundo-Naa and Zohi-Naa.

They also interacted with over 200 Abudu and Andani youth brought together in Yendi.

They earlier visited the Chief of Savelugu, Yoo-Naa Bukari.

According to the President of the Dagbon Forum, Dr. Sulemana Abdulai alias Mobson, there was an overwhelming support for the implementation of the final roadmap to the restoration of peace in Dagbon.

He said all the stakeholders pledged their commitment to ensure the roadmap's successful implementation.

"It was an opportunity for us to tell our people to be at peace to create sustainable development in Dagbon."

He underscored the need for all sons and daughters of Dagbon to actively participate in the implementation of the final roadmap.

"Do away with your personal idiosyncrasies and fully participate in the implementation of the final roadmap."

"Over the years the problem of enskinning a Yaa-Naa had challenges and we need to bury our differences and find a permanent solution after the funerals performance."

Dr. Abdulai Sulemana emphasized that "The two funerals performance should be our collective interest. We have been imprisoned for over three decades."

He expressed the three organizations hope that Dagbon will regain its dignity as one of the oldest Kingdoms in the history of Ghana.

Dr. Sulemana Abdulai commended the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) and the Yendi Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) for the security arrangements put in place to curtail any untoward situation.

He however appealed to central government and development partners to support the law enforcement agencies maintaining law and order in Yendi.

Alhaji Nurudeen A. Moomeen, Apostle Isaac Nii Kotei Djan and Abukari Nunu represented the Peace Council and Albert Yelyang from WANEP-Ghana.
