A Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr. Stephen Amoah, has praised Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's exceptional leadership qualities, stating that they have made him enviable in many countries.

Speaking in an interview on Hello FM in the Ashanti Region, on October 26, 2024, Amoako said that Dr Bawumia’s qualities have made him an asset that even the Canadian government wishes to have him in their administration.

“... the Canadian government wishes they had Bawumia in their country. His intelligence, integrity, and gentility is one of a kind and if I say that, I’m not implying that his contenders do not possess those qualities,” he said.

The deputy minister, who is also the Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, highlighted several qualities that leaders must possess to effectively lead the country, including integrity and intelligence.

He emphasised that these qualities, which Ghanaians highly seek in their next leader, are exactly what Dr. Bawumia possesses, making him the perfect candidate among his contenders.

“The qualities Ghanaians seek in leadership are intelligence and integrity. Unlike the structured systems in the U.S. and the UK, Ghana requires leaders who can navigate its challenges.

“Dr. Bawumia possesses these qualities; he is known for his peaceful demeanor, respect for others, and compassion, regardless of his Muslim faith. Those who know him or have interacted with him can attest to this,” he said.

He added that “Additionally, even though he hails from the northern part of the country, he does not engage in tribalism or ethnic politics. He believes in nationalism and promotes unity among Ghanaians.”
