The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ministry of Education, Ekow Vincent Assifuah has appeared before personnel of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service at the Accra Regional Police Command.

Vincent Ekow Assifuah was invited by the CID at the instance of businessman and brother of former President John Dramani Mahama, Ibrahim Mahama over comments he is purported to have made on Facebook on Thursday, June 13, 2019.

MyNewsGh.com spotted him at the Accra Regional Police Command after an invitation was extended to him after an official complaint was lodged by Ibrahim Mahama over the alleged comment.

According to sources, he expected to report back on Monday June 17, 2019 together with his lawyer, Mr. Gary Nimako Marfo.

The rescued Canadians, Lauren Tilley and Bailey Chitty, 19 and 20 years respectively who were kidnapped over a week ago have been flown out of Ghana.

The victims are said to be volunteers with the group Youth Challenge International, a Canadian international development organisation with its headquarters in Toronto.

The group works in 16 countries across South America, Africa and Asia, working to support development projects for young people in areas such as health, education and employment.

They were therefore assigned to Kumasi but were kidnapped at Ahodwo, Kumasi Royal Golf Club, at 8.25pm on 4 June 2019.
