Sirugu (UE/R), Nov. 27, GNA- The Movement of Collective Associations (MOCAS), a civil society group, in Navrongo has organized a forum for all aspiring Parliamentary Candidates in the Chiana/Pagan constituency to present their manifesto to the constituents.
The Corporative League of the United States - Government Accountability Improves Trust (CLUSA-GAIT) in Accra supported the programme.
The aspirants included Mr Abuga Pele, the incumbent, representing the NDC, Mr Leo Kaba of the NPP, Mr Peter Nso of the PNC, Mr Desmond Ayeriveri of the CPP and Mr Martin Achima, an Independent candidate. An enthusiastic crowd met at the durbar grounds at Sirigu in Navrongo East in the Kassena Nankana District to listen to the aspirants.
They took turns to answer questions from and gave the assurance that if they were voted to power they would use their positions to influence decision makers to create an additional District to facilitate development.
Mr Abuga Pele, who is also the Minority spokesman for Education, Youth and Sports assured the people that he would use his experience to bring continuous development to the constituency. He said poverty reduction was a problem in the area and that if voted into office, he would ensure that poverty was drastically reduced.
Mr Leo Kaba of the NPP said he would ensure that Paga was upgraded into a "Model" town. Mr Martin Achima, the Independent candidate said He would improve education with his share of the MPs common Fund.
Mr Peter Nso gave the assurance that he would bring opinion leaders irrespective of their political divide together for the development. Mr Desmond Ayeriveri of the CPP said unity was one issue relevant for development and that he would use his position to unite the people as one family.
Mr Braimah Sanjage, Coordinator of MOCAS appealed to the aspirants to conduct their campaigns in humane manner to ensure that December election would be peaceful.
